An Unruly Brunch
Yes, I know, I ate three courses at The Unruly Pig pre-launch brunch last week and my daughter did too. But where else can you order Oysters Rockefeller followed by an Omelette Arnold Bennett and then a finale plate of waffles with maple syrup and bacon. The new brunch menu is available from this Saturday 6th April. You must try it!

Kings Lynn again, this time for coffee
Peckish in Kings Lynn? Then head to Goldings. It calls itself a public house but walking in you might think deli or coffee shop. It is the side kick to the successful and well know Market Bistro next door. With an excellent cup of coffee we had savoury croissants and some rather lovely cakes.
Honey and Co.
The best place for breakfast and to lift the spirits for my daughter after yet another operation at UCLH. 30 years of leg equalisation treatment and the after effects of pins and plates being removed from her bones deserves The Big Breakfast at Honey and Co. Warren Street. 4 minutes hobble from the hospital. We ordered everything!

Moriarty's Cafe
A cafe in Walsham le Willows that I've been meaning to try and it's on my doorstep, so off for a birthday breakfast with Mr SF on a gloriously warm June morning. We were the first to arrive and sat outside to enjoy our scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on sourdough toast. (Woosters bread, woo hoo!) Then a second round of an American pancake with fresh fruit and honey. Divided opinion on this, and I don't think cooked to order as although light and fluffy it lacked that straight out of the frying pan edge. Mind you the fruit was freshly sliced and the honey runny and enjoyable. Coffee was robust, very drinkable so we had two each. This cafe has a gorgeous garden and friendly staff, although they need to be more careful about recording what the customers eat as we were undercharged. Maybe not everyone has two courses at breakfast? I did point out the missing items from the bill by the way.
- I want a clematis like this
- courtyard garden
- the menu
- American pancake with fruit and honey
- scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on sourdough

Breakfast in Hesset
The place for a fresh local farmhouse breakfast on Saturday September 2nd will be the Heath Farm farm pop-up at Hesset village hall. We went to one last Saturday and had a tasty sausage bap (£3) and home-made sausage rolls (£2.50) cooked on the spot. You can have a full English breakfast with eggs laid that day, and a lamb and tzatziki-slaw bap for brunch too - from a small but tasty menu of locally produced meat which is also for sale on the day.

An exciting breakfast
Darsham Nurseries. The best and most interesting breakfast I have eaten for a long time. Shakshuka ... baked eggs in spiced tomato and pepper stew with feta cheese and lots of lovely fresh herbs including my favourite dill.
National Breakfast Week
Its Breakfast Week! Shake Up Your Wake Up and see how many exciting ideas you can come up with. Yesterday we had a Toasted Bagels with Smoked Salmon and Creme Fraiche and today was Yorkshire Rhubarb, Greek Yoghurt and Acacia Honey. Tomorrow I am hoping to go to Tiffins Tea Emporium in Long Melford for one of their lovely breakfast specials.

Welsh Rarebit in Essex
I was working in Essex last week and discovered my B&B was B and no B so I had to go hunting for my breakfast. I headed for Dedham where I had heard there was a very good tea room which opens at 9am and served breakfast. Essex Rose Tea House is owned by Wilkin and Sons, famous for the Tiptree preserves.I ordered the Welsh Rarebit made with Tiptree mustard. Perfect, as was the service and the pot of tea.

Farmhouse Breakfast Week
This week is Farmhouse Breakfast Week. Today I made ...wait for it.... balsamic roasted tomatoes squashed onto toasted rye bread, topped with stir fried mushrooms and spinach, griddled halloumi cheese and a poached egg...what a pig!
